Common Bluu FAQs
How do I use Bluu spray?
Holding the bottle 3cm away from the object, gently spray ensuring the entire surface area is covered. For example the top and bottom of the thumb.
Repeat this before the habit is likely to occur or as required.
Reapply spray after hand washing.
This product is not toxic however it is not intended to be congested in large volumes. For external use only. If any skin irritation occurs, discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes and broken skin.
What if the habit stops and comes back?
It is important to note that, particularly for thumb sucking and self soothing habits, even if the habit is temporarily broken, it can come back. It is important to use the entire contents of the bottle before stopping us or continue using the spray for 3 months after the habit has stopped.
How often should I use Bluu Spray?
Self soothing habits typically occur during predictable times of the day/night.
For example, thumb sucking can occur when the child is tired/bored/relaxing/car trips or watching tv.
Try to get into the habit of spraying Bluu prior to the known occurrence. Repeat as required daily and re apply after hand washing. The spray is incredibly effective when used consistently.
How long does Bluu take to work?
It will have an instant effect with its intense bitter taste (feel free to give it a taste test yourself..) however long lasting results only occur when Bluu Spray is used consistently.
What if Bluu doesn’t work for me?
The intensely bitter taste is incredibly challenging to tolerate. Please contact our friendly team to discuss some tips and tricks to assist the situation.
We recommend to not spray your child if they are distressed as it will cause a negative association with the spray. Lack of consistency will have worse results.

Although it safe to ingest in small amounts, it is designed as a deterrent for external use only.

My child is still sucking their thumb, can I get a refund?
We understand that every child is different, and breaking a thumb-sucking, nail biting or dummy habit can take time. Bluu is designed to provide an immediate bitter-taste deterrent and is the most effective when used consistently, but we can’t guarantee that every child will respond in the same way.
If you’ve used Bluu as directed and your child is still sucking their thumb, please reach out to our team. We’ll be happy to discuss your experience and help wherever we can. Refund eligibility is subject to our refund policy.
Can I return Bluu if I’ve opened or used it?
For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or used sprays may not be eligible for return or refund. Please contact us if you have concerns about your product so we can assess your situation.
What if my Bluu arrives damaged?
If your Bluu spray arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos of the product and packaging. We’ll work with you to arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.
